Pick a width, then a length
Four cutting widths, each at 20' or 40' long. The 40' beds extend in 20' sections, and every bed runs 12, 20, 30, 40 or 60 kW. Beds are drawn to the same scale; the dashed outline is 20' x 40'.

The Piranha LF Large Format CNC Fiber LASER, inside and out

Large plate. Full-length parts. One setup.
Large plate is the job. Hull panels, ship frames, rail sills, boom plates and structural members run 20' to 40' and longer. On a standard bed, that plate gets sheared down, re-fixtured, cut in pieces and spliced back together. The LF cuts it the way it arrives.
Full-size nests run across the whole plate, so yield goes up and the remnant rack shrinks. Long parts come off in one piece, with no splice welds and no second setup. With the 3D bevel head, weld-prep bevels are cut in the same program as the part, so plate moves from the bed to fit-up without another operation.
At 60 kW the LF cuts carbon and stainless steel up to 3-1/8" and aluminum up to 2-3/8", at fiber LASER tolerances: ±0.0006"/ft positioning and 0.004" repeatability.

Same chart for every LF bed size. Size the resonator to the plate you run every shift, not the occasional one-off. Where two power levels list the same maximum thickness, the higher kW cuts that plate faster.

How big a plate can the Piranha LF Large Format CNC Fiber LASER cut?
Up to 20' wide and 40' long on the standard LF 2040 bed. The 40' models accept 20' bed extensions, so cutting lengths past 100' are available for ship frames, beams, rail sills and long plate runs.
What thickness can a 60 kW fiber LASER cut?
In production, the 60 kW LF cuts carbon steel and stainless steel up to 3-1/8" (80 mm) and aluminum up to 2-3/8" (60 mm). At 12 kW, the LF cuts 1-3/8" carbon and stainless and 1-3/16" aluminum. The full chart is above.
Can the LF take work off our plasma or oxy-fuel tables?
For plate within its range, yes. Many plants run a large format fiber LASER alongside plasma or oxy-fuel: the LASER takes the plate up to 3-1/8" at 60 kW, with tighter tolerances, smaller holes and less cleanup, and the thicker plate stays on the processes already in place.
Which LF models can be extended?
The four 40' models: LF 1040, LF 1340, LF 1640 and LF 2040. Extensions are added in 20' sections at the time of order. The 20' models are fixed-length beds.
Can the LF cut weld-prep bevels?
Yes. The 3D bevel cutting head is an option on every LF model and cuts weld-prep bevels in the same program as the part.
What does installation require?
Your proposal lists footprint, weight and electrical service sizing (460 V, 3-phase, 60 Hz), along with gas and dust collection requirements. Piranha installs the machine and trains your operators and programmers.
How is the LF supported after installation?
By Piranha's U.S. service team in Belvidere, Illinois. The Preventive Maintenance Program adds 1, 2 or 3 years of scheduled visits, two a year, with full system inspection, on-site calibration and documentation, and priority scheduling.
How do I get pricing?
Request a quote with your bed size, power and production details. Piranha returns a written proposal covering the machine, options, site requirements, installation and service. Introductory pricing is available on the LF line now.
What is the difference between the LF and the FLEX series?
Bed size. The FLEX series runs from 5' x 10' to 8' x 20'; the LF starts at 10' x 20' and goes to 20' x 40' and beyond. Both use the Piranha cutting head and HypCut 8000 control.
